Pirates have been around for ages and are diffrent from the ones that you see in the movies and have evoved from he olden days and are pritty modern for example they use gun so on so on.

Maps
Maps are used to locate treasure like gold, gems and crowns and over valuble object usaly look quiet old (brown) and maby burnt round the edges not used so much now but were in the olden days.
